The Z’s in peacefulness
Can you believe it, another year has gone by? And being in the festive mood makes it even more serial. If you are anything like me, you work the whole year through only to look forward to the relaxing and peaceful time at the end of the year. But in all honesty do you really settle down, do you really take the time to reflect, do you really slow down?
I don’t, do you?
Do you feel energised after decorating the house, having year end dinner parties, saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming in the new, but in the same breath planning for the next year, looking at your cash flow, stressing about what is coming, wondering about how the year is going to treat you, all the unknown things. It is exhausting!!. Once again finding yourself in the rat race of life.
I do, do you?
It is important, and an obligation towards yourself to implement the correct, most appropriate techniques to assist yourself in obtaining the relaxation you so desperately need. Did you know one of the techniques that contributes and causes the most influence is sleep.
How so?
The sleeping technique might sound superficial and obvious but understanding the structure and the significance it has in life, can predetermine in what direction one’s life will go. Researchers have discovered since the average human being can function normally with only 6-8 hours’ sleep; it is possible for a human being to have balance in every aspect of their lives. This contributes to our physical, emotional, and psychological attributes (it differs unfortunately form one person to another, since we are our own individuals).
According to Dr. Michael Twery, a sleep expert at NIH unstable sleeping patterns affect almost every tissue in our bodies. It can affect our growth and stress hormones, eating patterns, immune system, cardiovascular system, breathing, and blood pressure. In the working environment is it seen as a hazard, as it can disturb concentration, logical reasoning, creative thinking, and thus problem-solving skills.
By making lists can be of great help, but if it is not correctly implemented can become an obstacle. It is easy to get caught up with what we must do, instead of doing what we need to do for ourselves. How to get your breath back. If you are a list person, keep it clean and clear to what you want to do. If you are a go-with-a-flow person, make sure that you make time for yourself to relax and know how you want to do this. As long as you make time for yourself – to get that needed and productive rest for the new working year that is coming.
To follow are ta few tips on how to build a more productive rest process:
Here are some tips to consider:
It is important for us to know how to relax, otherwise it will result in you feeling more drained than what you have planned and hoped for the whole year. Make everyday count, especially your holidays where you find your inner peace, tranquility and eventually yourself again.
Do it right because you deserve it!!
